At the US Tango Foundation, we envision a more inclusive, compassionate, and connected society.
Our goal is to expand tango’s reach as a tool for empowerment, fostering communities built on equality, respect, and emotional well-being. By challenging barriers and redefining traditional roles, we strive to inspire future generations to embrace tango as a universal art form that strengthens human connection and shared values.

More than just a dance, tango is an intimate dialogue of movement, with the embrace at its heart. This close connection fosters trust, empathy, and non-verbal communication, creating a profound sense of unity between partners. Through the embrace, dancers experience presence, deep listening, and shared expression, strengthening emotional bonds.
The improvisational nature of tango engages both mind and body, enhancing coordination, focus, and emotional resilience. At the same time, its rich heritage serves as a bridge between diverse communities, celebrating cultural exchange and inclusion.
At the US Tango Foundation, we believe in tango’s transformative power to unite people, promote well-being, and inspire positive change in society.

Tango Femme is a supportive and empowering space dedicated to women who want to explore and develop the lead role in tango. Rooted in a commitment to gender equality and personal empowerment, this practice challenges traditional norms by offering women the opportunity to take the lead—literally.
Designed as a safe, welcoming environment, Tango Femme allows participants to build confidence, deepen their understanding of the dance, and enhance connection through the perspective of the leader. Here, women are encouraged to embrace the strength, creativity, and freedom that come with leading, while also addressing the role imbalance often seen in social tango spaces.
More than just a practice, Tango Femme is a movement, fostering mutual support, growth, and empowerment through dance.
This is a unique program designed to bring the healing and transformative power of tango to prison environments. Focused on young inmates, this initiative uses tango as a tool to address themes of consent, communication, and emotional awareness. By engaging participants in the structured yet expressive world of tango, the program aims to promote self-reflection, mutual respect, and non-violent interactions.
We believe tango should be accessible to everyone. Through community events and open-role classes, we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the joy of tango.
Our approach prioritizes well-being, inclusion, and connection. In a supportive and welcoming environment, participants feel valued and embraced—regardless of experience. By emphasizing the therapeutic benefits of movement, the power of human connection, and the richness of cultural diversity, our programs inspire personal growth and a deep sense of belonging.
